Central Contra Costa Sanitary District (Central San)

Central San has been protecting public health and the environment since 1946. Today, we serve nearly 500,000 residents and more than 15,000 businesses in central Contra Costa County, California. Every year, we collect and clean about 13 billion gallons of wastewater. We also operate a popular Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility, recycle water for landscape irrigation and industrial use, and promote pollution prevention through award-winning education, outreach, and inspection programs.
