City of Lima

The City of Lima Utilities Department is the city’s largest department, providing drinking water, wastewater, and refuse services. With six divisions and about 90 employees, the department oversees five reservoirs (15 billion gallons), three pump stations, a 30 MGD water treatment plant, and a 70 MGD wastewater plant. Supporting infrastructure includes 500 miles of mains, five elevated tanks, nearly 3,900 hydrants, and 26,000 meters—all operated to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable water service.
