Idel Montalvo Arango, PhD
Idel is an expert in designing and developing software solutions for solving hydraulic engineering problems. He has vast experience working with multi-objective evolutionary algorithms and data analytics with applications in water distribution systems. With advanced skills for water network modeling, more than 5 years of teaching experience combined with more than 20 years writing software for the water industry, Idel is passionate about sharing his knowledge and equipping the next generation of problem solvers.
Idel is the Founder and CEO of Ingeniousware GmbH, a start-up bringing value to different industries through digital transformations. Idel graduated summa cum laude and European mention, from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). He has over 120 publications with more than 1500 citations (source: researchgate). He was the recipient of the UPV PhD 2011 Special Prizes Three Fellowship MAEC-AECI (2007-2010), given by the International Cooperation Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain. Idel earned a Masters in Hydraulic Engineering (2008, with honours) and Specialist in “Urban Water Management” by the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain. He is a graduate of hydraulic engineering in 2002 (with honours), at the Technological University of Havana (CUJAE), Havana, Cuba. He was awarded the Jorge Brodermann Vignier Prize for the best graduated in hydraulic engineering in Cuba, 2002, given by the Cuban National Union for Architects and Civil Engineers.
