AGENDA
An engaging, practical session featuring Coliban Water and Logan Water, we discussed why so many Smart Water initiatives fail to deliver lasting value and what utilities can do differently. Drawing on lessons from real-world utility projects’ experience, we explored why promising digital investments often stall after pilots. Failure is often not a technology problem, but a mismatch between ambition, capability, and organisational foundations.
KEY INSIGHTS
Dr. Peter Prevos (Coliban Water) shared how to build those foundations. Focusing on data literacy, standardisation, governance, and alignment with business objectives, it offered a practical pathway from hype-driven experimentation to operational realism, helping utilities turn “smart” projects into sustainable transformation.
Tyron Ware and Anna Carpenter (Logan Water) shared insights from the evolution of the Integrated Services Hub (ISH), the organisation’s physical operations hub that transformed end-to-end service delivery to the community.
