The Regulator’s Role in Streamlining Innovation in Europe

SWAN EA 13th Call feat. ERSAR, AEAS, and Ofwat

Global water regulators employ various strategies to promote innovation within water utilities based on their local circumstances. In Portugal there is economic regulation and “sunshine regulation” or a public display of performance, in Spain there is no national water regulator, but instead a voluntary support association, and in the UK, there are strong financial incentives and penalties.

View a recap of the recent SWAN European Alliance Call focused on “The Water Regulator’s Role in Streamlining innovation” featuring:

  • Vera Eiró, CEO & President of the Board at ERSAR (Portuguese Regulator)
  • Gari Villa-Landa Sokolova, Head of International Affairs at AEAS (Spanish Association of Water Supply and Sanitation)
  • Marc Hannis, Principal at Ofwat – Innovation Fund (UK Regulator)

Call recap available to SWAN Members.
