Chairman, Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (National Water Services Commission, Malaysia)

Datuk Ir. Abdul Kadir Mohd Din has over 40 years of experience in the water and sewerage sectors, specializing in strategic business planning, management, and environmental sustainability. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland.

Currently, he is the Chairman of the National Water Services Commission (SPAN) since May 2025. He has held various senior management roles, including CEO of Indah Water Konsortium and COO of Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad.

Datuk Ir. Abdul Kadir is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and a member of various professional institutions.

Narendran Maniam

Chief Executive Officer (Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd)

Narendran assumed the CEO role at Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd (IWK) in August 2019, leading the charge to ensure a clean and thriving environment for present and future Malaysians through a robust sewerage system. With over 28 years of versatile experience, he excels in Strategic Planning, Business Development, and Water Infrastructure. Narendran’s earlier stint at IWK (1998-2005) saw him serve as a Planning Engineer and Manager. Prior to helming the CEO of IWK in 2019, he was with Ranhill Utilities from 2005 – 2019 carrying various strategic roles and brought significant contributions to business development, strategic planning, and operational improvements in supporting the Group Chief Executive of Ranhill Utilities. His efforts in these areas have consistently driven growth and innovation, positioning him as a leader capable of steering organizations toward sustainable success.

As CEO of IWK since August 2019, Narendran leads initiatives to ensure a clean and healthy environment for present and future Malaysians through a well-maintained sewerage system. His leadership has expanded IWK’s coverage across Peninsula Malaysia and extended the concession period to 2034, incorporating non-core initiatives related to the Circular Economy, focusing on waste-to-wealth initiatives such as bioeffluent reuse, biosolid reuse, and increased biogas production. He successfully restructured the sewerage tariff, which had remained unchanged for 28 years.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s in Civil-Environmental Engineering from University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). A registered engineer with the Boardvof Engineers (Malaysia) and a member of the Malaysian Water Association (MWA), Narendran combines his technical prowess with a passion for environmental sustainability to drivevtransformative change in the water industry.  

Audrey Thomas

Private Partnerships Specialist (Better With Water)

Audrey has been working in the international development and solidarity sector since 2022, first working on environmental and social development projects in West and North Africa, and later on social and economic inclusion initiatives in the Philippines.She currently works as a Private Partnerships Specialist at Better with water. In this role, she supports partnership development and fundraising efforts to enable the scaling of an organization delivering sustainable piped drinking water directly to households in urban informal settlements across Bangladesh, Kenya and the Philippines.

Better with water is an international organization operating a hybrid model that combines a paid, high-quality water service delivered at household level couples with essential social activities, including community and stakeholder mobilization, civil protection training, and hygiene and water-use practices. This integrated approach aims to ensure both long-term service sustainability and improved living conditions in vulnerable urban communities.
