Empowering the Global Water Sector

SWAN acts as an unbiased facilitator – supporting a diverse, global membership across regions, roles, and stages of digital maturity. From young professionals starting their careers to senior leaders across utilities and technology providers, SWAN connects a global ecosystem working to create measurable value for the municipal and adjacent water sectors worldwide.

Accelerating Digital Transformation

SWAN bridges innovation with practicality. We align our initiatives to real organisational needs, emerging technologies, and regulatory realities – through curated smart water programming, a living global case study library, and targeted networking. By sharing what works, and what hasn’t, we help utilities and partners make more informed, confident decisions on their digital journeys.

Collective Intelligence & Collaboration

SWAN showcases the power of collective intelligence, turning regional and global contributions into shared learning and actionable insight. Through contagious collaboration across members and partners, we enable value and impact that no organisation could achieve alone.

From Strategy to Action

To realise the vision of Transforming Water, Together, SWAN prioritises strategic programming, guiding tools and targeted networking that brings the global water community together, virtually and in person, to accelerate the adoption of smart, data-driven solutions.

How SWAN Creates Value

The ‘What’

Insight-driven learning through webinars, workshops, explainer content, and industry sessions that inform and inspire.

The ‘Who’

Authentic collaboration through roundtables, networking, events, and cross-sector partnerships.

The ‘How’

Turning knowledge into impact through joint research, industry reports, co-created tools, and practical guides and playbooks.

Together, and through a lens of serious fun, SWAN is shaping a more connected, resilient, and data-driven water future that values people, process, and progress.

Our strategy reflects the insight, feedback, and contribution of the SWAN community.

Personally, I have been able to get involved in deeper conversation about digital platforms. Organisationally, this is a great avenue to influence the future of digital platforms at utilities and the ability to hear the voice of customers along with the voice of industry from consultants, peers and competitors.
SWAN is a trusted facilitator, helping us identify partners/solution providers to support our interoperability efforts. Through the network, we have found similar water agencies to share knowledge with so we can make more informed decisions.
Our utility frequently refers to SWAN case studies, white papers and playbooks for business case development.
SWAN has created space to learn from others globally, test assumptions, and adapt ideas thoughtfully within unique regulatory, customer, and community contexts.
Through the engaging SWAN community, I have expanded my professional network and have been introduced to innovative solutions and perspectives from around the globe.
